Surfers in Huanchaco

Stop the time on the wave

One of the best moments of surfing is when you feel you have the control.

Uno de los mejores momentos de surfear es cuando sientes que tienes el control.

My cross

You also had one

This time my image uploaded itself in a small size. It's a TV antenna still used on the floor of some houses of Trujillo. But if you want you could see crucified Christ in it.

Soundtrack: "Window in the skies" - U2

Esta vez mi imagen se subió en tamaño pequeño. Es una antena de TV aun usada en el techo de algunas casas de Trujillo.

The curtains of the Sun

Grey Sunset

100_0854copia

Trujillo is in the coast and has a lot of beaches. But what I like of them is something not very usual. I enjoy sunsets without sun, when it decides to hide behind the fog and soft shadows. Our winter is generous, and the absence of sun too. So ironic, so magic. You have to visit Huanchaco so you can see this sunset.

Late coast

Lights in the coast

The horses of totora are "sleeping" and the night falls over Huanchaco Beach, slowly. It s winter but the sun rises everyday and the sea is happy today. 20 years ago Huanchaco had half of habitants than it has now. Something charming lives in Huanchaco, I don t know what it is.

Trujillo, the City of Spring

Huanchaco Beach

These long boats are called caballos de totora (horses of totora), they were used by the habitants of chimu culture to fish and navigate the pacific ocean. Today, they are still used by fishermen of Huanchaco and some tourists like to sail on these sea horses. Huanchaco is the most beautiful beach of Trujillo. Trujillo is known as "the city of spring" because it has a wonderful weather all year long... a 365-day-spring.
