Bricks and iron
Trujillo is in a relatively quiet zone. We have suffered earthquakes, the worst was in 1970, since then it has been quiet. For that reason, houses and buildings are made to fight against seism. When I was in Spain I got surprised by the thinness of walls and floors, that kind of structures are impossible here.

I totally agree with you. I was recently in the eastern coast of the U.S. and I noticed how thin are the walls there. I think that the earthquake tradition of the pacific coast of America (and by America I mean the whole continent, not only the U.S...) is somehow good. I can sleep knowing that our houses and buildings have tons and tons of concrete and iron...
Interesting vertical and horizontal lines.
We, in Western Europe, don't realize how lucky we are to live in an earthquake free zone. I don't know how I could cope knowing that my house could collapse overnight just because the earth is not happy...
I suppose you can live without thinking of it all the time of course.
PS: Valery, congratulations on your article in El Comercio Peru!
This is an excellent photo. Geometry and man in nature. Black and white works perfectly.
